“Connecting the Circle” Science Day Camp
Girl Scouts and their grandparents have been invited to this day camp held on U of M campus. Kids 8 to 12 and grandparents or surrogate grandparents age 50 and over can come together July 20-21, 2009 to The University of Montana to learn from experts about the sun, stars and galaxies, the buzz about bees, the excitement of fossils or how puppets and robots move. $100 total fee includes field trips, interactive lectures given by University Professors, and an incredible array of options. Did you pick up your journal sheet at B & N yet? Just keep track of books you read over the summer (May 26th – Sept. 7) and after you have read 8 books you get to choose a FREE book from the list provided. (The list is on the journal sheet too.) The books you read do not have to be from B & N you just have to read them. There are many different book choices for grades 1st – 6th. And even if you move this summer or are traveling, this is a nationwide program so you can get your free book at any location in the country. In addition to the free book, Missoula Barnes and Noble would like to invite the Girl Scouts to a PARTY Saturday,
August 8, so all participating Girl Scouts can get their books together. Come get your free book, win a prize during the scavenger hunt, or just come for the treats. If you can’t make it, you can pick up your free book anytime during or just after the program ends. Happy reading!
Save the Date! Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming Theme Park Event date is August 1st 2009. Mark your calendars to attend either Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho or Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado. Registration information including prices will be posted on the GSMW website (www.gsmw.org) after March 1st, 2009. Be sure to check it out after March 1st!
